Like most landscapes, the lighting is best in early morning or late aft.Equipment
I used a Canon D20 and an old Slik tripod. The lens was a Tamron 18-200mmInspiration
I go to Lost Maples almost every year. I love the scenery out there. The Fall foliage varies every year. It is only about an hour and a half from San Antonio--where I liveEditing
I'm not good at post processing, so I just used Picasa. I boosted the mids a LOTIn my camera bag

When shooting Fall landscapes, don't stay focused on a row of trees. Keep your mind open. Look for small portions of pretty leaves too. Shoot them backlit as well as with the sun shining on it. Lastly, decide how to crop/compose it. Keep the main points out of the middle. Experiment a bit on the cropping. At this location, I probably shot about 10 photos. They varied in focal length, angle, and exposure.
