Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in Molveno, Italy, while walking on the beach of this lake.

Time

Probably one of the worst times for photography... shortly after noon

Lighting

Although it was noon I liked the idea of taking a picture with that kind of light, I saw it as a challenge

Equipment

I used my first reflex ever, a simple but fantistic canon eos 1100d, with my 11-18mm Tamron lens, no tripod, no spirit level (is it right?)... only my eyes and my arms to take the picture straight.

Inspiration

I was walking and... find that tree alone, in that context it gave me a feeling of tranquility and peace, so I tried to capture that emotion.

Editing

I am really denied with post production, and even when I do night shots I try to do the best I can at that instant, because I really do not understand anything of it!!

In my camera bag

Well, normally I have a Tamron 70-300mm, a Tamron 11-18 and a Canon 18-55mm because i can do all type of photography i need. In my bag i have also some kits for lens cleaning, a polarized filter for the Tamrons, a rain kit, a remote, some paper, a pencil and of course my faithful Manfrotto tripod.

Feedback

It is absolutely true that for a good photo you need excellent skills and knowledge, and often you have to study the composition, exposure and so on. In my short experience as a photographer I realized that the best photos are the ones most unexpected, more spontaneous. And I think that's what you need to take a picture like that... spontaneity.
