I would LOVE to know how you get to find these places where you can get these kind of shots. Fabulous capture!

Being a retired RCAF fighter pilot I have a passion for grossly over powered aircraft, you captured this pilot and his/her aircraft in a very skilled position with contrails coming of each wing. That is a hard picture to get with a fast moving aircraft of the F-15 Eagle.

Location
This was taken in valleys of beautiful North Wales (UK) the area is full of birds of prey, gorgeous scenery and the occasion fast jet.Time
Taken early afternoon in late May, it was a broken cloudy day with the sun behind me.Lighting
Just as the clouds broke a little, the sun just lit this up perfectly.Equipment
Camera was a Canon EOS 70D with a Canon L Series 100-400mm lens, image stabilization setting on two.Inspiration
I've been a fan of fast jets since I could crawl, my father taking me to airshows from birth, he said my eyes used to open really wide when one flew past . . . the challenge of getting perfect focus, steady panning and good lighting is what drives me to get a better shot the next visit.Editing
The only post processing on this shot were light and colour level using the canon digital software suite that comes with the camera. In my camera bag
Canon 70D, Canon 18-55mm, Canon 24-105mm f4, Canon L 100-400mm IS, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8, Canon 420 Speedlite, Manfrotti Tripod.Feedback
Don't be disappointed when you don't get the results such as my shot, patience is a virtue and with anything, the more you try the better you get. I started a few years ago with a Canon 550D and the Canon 75-300mm lens you get in the package, my first settings were every thing on Auto, soon learning to utilise shutter priority mode after which the shots got better, adjusting shutter speed to compensate for the varying light levels. Soon afterwards experimenting with fixed setting of ISO, and even exposure compensation, its very much a learn as you go and the more you do it, the more confident you become in your equipment and abilities.
