This photograph of four month old baby Emma was taken at my home during a posed four month session to build up my portfolio as a baby photographer.Time
It was taken roughly around 11:15 amLighting
I used natural light for this whole photography session. I am a natural light photographer and it was shot next to my patio door. Her face was turned slightly towards the light.Equipment
This photograph was taken using a Canon 60d, Canon 50mm prime lens and was hand held.Inspiration
I am in the midst of building my portfolio and establishing myself as a newborn and baby photographer. This was taken during a portfolio building sessionEditing
The only post processing done was a minimal brightness / exposure adjustment and cropped to 8x10 I do not like to do much more than that with my photographs. I want the photographs to be as natural as possible. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 60D, Canon 50mm prime lens, Canon 18-55 kit lens, Canon 75-300mm telephoto zoom lens and a 6.5mm Rokinon fisheye lens.Feedback
This was just as a lifestyle shoot and my advice is to have fun, love what you are doing and don't be afraid. I was so nervous about photographing my very first four mth old baby, but this turned out to be a winner :D When setting up make sure that the lighting is correct. Lighting is the key to everything. It can make or break your pic. Also, make sure you get your white balance right because that will reduce the amount of work you have to do in post processing. Editing this photo and converting from RAW to Jpeg took about 3 minutes because most of it was left untouched.
