Location
This was taken at the Salton Sea in southern California .Time
It was taken around 7pm /sunset.Lighting
I just waited for the sun to begin setting as it was casting some beautiful hues over the lake and the clouds.Equipment
Taken with a canon 5d ii using a70-200mm 2.8 L lens. No tripod.Inspiration
Seeing the colours from the setting sun.Editing
Slight adjustments in lightroom, try to get as much right in camera. In my camera bag
i mainly have 3 lens with me in the bag. They are...16-35 2.8L by Canon, 24-105 4.0L by Canon and finally the 70-200 2.8L. Now and again I'll bring a macro lens with me but I very seldom get to use it.Feedback
Well sometimes it's all about being at the right place at the right time...but for shots like this you have to have a lot of patients. You also need to have your camera setting ready or close to the exposure you want for a setting sun. They can change every few minutes as one knows. At least if you have it close to the proper exposure you won't have any surprises.
