Taking a walk along the pier at Fishermans' Wharf in Victoria, BC, Canada. My husband and I were exploring the sites being offered to us lucky tourists. When I spotted this friendly visitor, who is apparently a regular, swimming next to us! I couldn't resist taking out my iPhone 6 and taking a few quick shots by crouching down and laying on the pier, stretching out over the water as far as possible in order to get literally in the seals' face before getting up and following after my husband who was intent upon for trying out the ice cream further up the pier.Time
It was in the afternoon, during an extremely windy spring day.Lighting
I wanted to be able to catch the afternoon light glinting off the water. Especially off of the ripples coming off of the seals movement in the water.Equipment
This shot was taking by my trusty sidekick, my iPhone 6. :) It can take some pretty amazing shots!Inspiration
Well, I love animals of all kinds, and I have a habit of trying to take a photo of every animal I see, especially animals that have scenery around them that might make a good photo. My goal is always to blow up and help people notice the little things that most people are too busy to stop and notice. 'Stop and smell the roses.' Is a common saying, but most people don't stop and smell them because they don't notice them. So I try to help people notice the beauty around us in the simplest smallest thing. When I saw this cute seal, so many people were just walking past! I just wanted to take a picture so other people could enjoy the moment too! To try and make them feel like they were right there with me! Feeling the emotion in the moment and the joys of enjoying the simple moments in life. :)Editing
Nope. Nothing done on this photo. In my camera bag
I'm just starting out and don't have enough money for a professional camera yet, so I usually just have my IPhone with me. But my new toy that I go to all the time now is my Olympus TG-4! It's macro capabilities are incredible!!Feedback
Well, I guess the only thing I can think of would be, never allow the embarrassment of possibly looking silly to stop you from getting that perfect shot! And just have fun! :)
