I have always admired the look of the "old world" Lourve mixed with I.M. Pei's "modern" Pyramid entrance. This is just an amazing juxtaposition capture of them both! Congrats on the feature. #Magnifique

Location
This shot was taken at the Louvre at Paris.Time
It was around 5 pm in the afternoon on a rainy December.Lighting
Reflection off the wet marble after sunset creates a sense of horizontal symmetry that resonated with the symmetrical design of the architecture.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Sony a900 with sigma 12-24 ultra wide.Inspiration
I've always admired the symmetrical beauty of the Louvre.Editing
I adjusted the contrast, sharpness and cropped the image on Photoshop. In my camera bag
I always carry my sony A900 with Zeiss 24-70mm, and my Fuji X100 for quick street photos. Depending on where I go, I would also choose to carry my sigma ultra wide angle 12-24mm, a F1.4 prime or the Sony 70-200 G.Feedback
Don't be restrained by the gears available at the moment. I did not have a tripod available when I took this shot. So I set my camera on the first staircase to the court yard. I think it turned out better than if I were to shoot it on a tripod. Play around with shutter speed. There was a lot of people at the courtyard during shot. The 20 second shutter speed effectively created the feel of an empty square.
