Behind The Lens

Location

Vrši? pass, Slovenia [https://goo.gl/maps/e7q9Ec5HZZC2]

Time

according to EXIF at 14:29 on September 30th 2006 with a HP PhotoSmart C945

Lighting

since it's a deep valley leading to the pass light felt like dusk even though it was midday actually

Equipment

HP PhotoSmart C945, f 1/10.2, 1/1235 sec, ISO 200. 38mm, handheld

Inspiration

the photo as it appears now was what I was looking with my inner eye, the snapshot however was a big disappointment and it took me 6 years of repeated attempts to reach the appearance I am finally satisfied with

Editing

what you see is actually a digital reconstruction of source photograph via number of steps I do not even remember any more, but basically it was averaging every single colour surface, cleaning dust, removing grain and giving a bit of boost to all the blues

In my camera bag

as little as possible, usually a toy camera (Canon EOS 600D) with a travel lens (Sigma 18-250) and quite so often a smartphone only

Feedback

since my working style is instinctive image harvesting I am hardly a person to give any advice, except maybe this: take as many photos as you can because with each single one you are getting a better photographer
