Location
This photo was taken at the Denver Botanical Gardens in April, 2014.Time
It was a beautiful mid-afternoon spring day, the sun was bright and a slight breeze kept me cooled off.Lighting
The lighting at the Gardens is absolutely beautiful. The layout of the landscaping helps capture all the sunlight needed for each type of flower.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3100 in a raw format. No special lenses, tripod or flashould used.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of nature and flowers. The bright color of the original flower was my inspiration.Editing
I used the editing tools on viewbug website for post-processing. I used the smart color tool to bring out the bright orange colors while leaving the flowers and most of the background in black and white. In my camera bag
Normally just my Nikon and two different size lenses, An 18-55 mm is what I normally use for most close up work.Feedback
Just use your imagination and don't be afraid to try different techniques. It's all about what draws YOU to a subject.
