I took this photo in my room on my bed because my bed has a black headboard and I wanted a plain background for my picture.Time
I actually don't remember what time of day it was exactly that I took this picture, but I think it was sometime in the middle of the day.Lighting
The lighting was actually pretty horrible because I took this photo inside with incandescent lighting. I had just recently learned how to use photoshop so I tried my best to photoshop it to not look so yellow and orange, but it just didn't look right. That's the main reason I made this photo black and white.Equipment
I took this picture with my Nikon COOLPIX S6200. Since the subject in my picture was on my bed, I used my bed in place of a tripod to help with shakiness and avoid blurry pictures.Inspiration
I initially took this photo as part of an assignment in my photography class in school. I needed to have a black and white photo. I decided to have the subject of my black and white photo to be of my parents' wedding rings in my Bible. I tried many different variations of the wedding rings and Bible together but most of them didn't turn out very well. Then I decided to fold the pages of my Bible into a heart and put the wedding rings inside. I have always loved pictures of books with the pages formed into hearts and pictures of wedding rings in the middle of an open bible with the shadow of the ring forming a heart, so I decided to put those two things together.Editing
I am not very advanced when it comes to using photoshop, but in my photography class in school, we were learning some basic things about editing photos, like adjusting the hue/saturation, curves, and levels of photographs. So I adjusted the levels a bit, added some contrast, and made my picture black and white. In my camera bag
I still like to carry around my Nikon COOLPIX S6200 camera, but now I also carry around a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi with a Canon EF50mm f/1.8 II lens and a Tamron AF70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 lens. I always use a tripod with my macro lens.Feedback
Advice I would give about taking photos with wedding rings is to be patient because it takes some time to position wedding rings the way you want them for your pictures because they don't stay still very easily, and it can also take a while to get your camera to focus on the diamond in the wedding ring. Also, make sure you have good lighting, natural light is usually better that incandescent or fluorescent lighting.
