the Grant County Friends of the Shelter are a dedicated group of people who are helping feral and free roaming cats. We trap cats and kittens, take them to a clinic to be neutered or spayed, then return them to the original place where they are found. The cats also receive a rabies vaccination and treated for fleas and any injuries they may have. This spot is a wooded area between two roads, behind a fast food restaurant. The person who cares for them has cleared a spot in the middle of this thicket, provided shelter and feeds on a daily basis. We are making a difference in the feline population of our county, with fewer unwanted kittens and cats being taken to our county operated shelter.

Outstanding We have two rescue cats and one rescue dog. My girlfriends brother established a no kill shelter a few years back and is starting his second one this month.

We used to do that, but as the number of coyotes increased, feral cats decreased. I am not sure that treat and release is still the best option for feral cats. We have had to rethink this option.
