I could be wrong but I think you just might like cats. One of many great kitty shots. Nice.

Location
I captured this shot while sitting on the ground outside my horse stable. Several of the stable cats followed me and began to climb on the nearby split rail fence. Ling was newly adopted and didn't socialize well with the other inhabitants.. Being somewhat aloof, she perched on one of the rails and began to settle.Time
It was late afternoon and the sun was beginning to fade when I got this soulful shot.Lighting
Outdoor, fading daylight. No flash.Equipment
At the time I took this photo, I was using a Pentax !st. DSL. I had a tripod with me, but can't remember if I used it. I'm thinking from the front view angle, that I hand held to capture this pose.Inspiration
Ling inspired me to take this photo! . She captivated me with her soulful, dreamy eyesEditing
Originally, there was no post-processing on this photo. I have two versions in my gallery. One of them has no post-processing, the other, I used the HD effects on ViewBug.In my camera bag
Currently, I have a Canon 50D, Canon lens, Ultrasonic, 28-135mm,; Canon lens, Ultrasonic, 70-300mm; Speedlight 430EXII; Promaster filters, 72mm, +1,+2,+4.. I also carry a tripod.Feedback
Cats are wonderful subjects to photograph! They know how to relax! Cats will hold a pose for some time, after THEY have decided on one! Just be patient. Acquaint your cat with the camera. Begin by snapping lots of shots not directed at the cat, slowly progressing to looking at the cat. I take a lot of photographs of birds through my windows, so my cats don't worry when I point the camera at them . I've even taken photos of cats sitting in my lap. An example of this is the lucky shot of Angus with the amazing orange eyes. I've also had good luck with studio lights. Having an assistant can be a valuable tool. I have a good friend who has helped me with shelter pet photos and I often credit her for getting the best shots. Lastly, and some may disagree, but I believe it helps to really like the subjects you are photographing.
