Location
This photo was taken in North West Scotland near Loch Assynt.Time
This is one of my favourite photos of red deer. It was great to get so close after about an hour following a small herd of deer.Lighting
I always like to use natural lighting. Obviously in a shot like this in the great outdoors miles from anywhere it is a given. But I like to use window light when in the studio and if I need a bit of fill in use reflective cards rather than using any artificial lighting.Equipment
Canon cameras. This one was shot with a Canon 30D with a Sigma 125-400 zoom (I think - I am not great at recording the shooting details - I would prefer to concentrate on making great images).Inspiration
Love the landscape of the Highlands where I live and try my best at wildlife photography as an enthusiastic amateur.Editing
Slight enhancement of colour to get a good balance and increase in contrast but I prefer to create images in the camera rather than relying on Photoshop. I use Photoshop Elements. In my camera bag
Two Canon camera bodies, Standard Canon 28-105mm, wide angle Sigma 10-20mm, 90mm macro also Sigma and my 125-400 Sigma telephoto.Feedback
