I visited the site several times until I got this shot late one afternoonLighting
I love this type of image where the angle of the sun and inversion creates layer upon layer of mountain silhouettes.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Canon D30 and the longer end of a 28-105mm zoomInspiration
I was accompanying a group of climber who set off over the glacier. I wanted shots of the group descending the arête but also general shots of the area.Editing
At the time I was on a crazy stage of my digital photography experience where I refused any post processing. The image has been retouched to remove spots but otherwise is as shotIn my camera bag
Two camera bodies - currently Canon 6D and 70D, superwide 10-22mm, standard 28-105mm, 90mm macro, 400mm tele, tripod, range of ND filters and graduated filters and a 10x ND for those long exposures over water.Feedback
I am not great at getting up early but when I do I often capture amazing images. I also like to go out in stormy weather and make the sky and cloud a major feature of my landscape photos. Always carry the long lens to capture any wildlife too.
