Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on the North Shore on Hawaii.

Time

Middle of the day just after a nice morning shower.

Lighting

There wasn't anything special about the lighting, in fact I was driving by this tree when I took the picture.

Equipment

Simple point and shoot Sony, handheld.

Inspiration

We were staying at a rental house up the road from this tree and we'd pass it every day. This day, I was prepared with my camera and the lighting was just perfect on this day. Who says driving in a car at 30mph can't produce a good picture.

Editing

A little bit of color correction was done but nothing major.

In my camera bag

Then my bag consisted of a little point and shoot. Today it's a Canon 70D with a couple lens and flashes.

Feedback

Sometimes you just get lucky! I wasn't planning this shot, I wasn't stable or anything they normally tell you to do. I do think this does reinforce the saying "Always be prepared" if I hadn't had my camera and wasn't ready to take a picture I'd never have captured this. My best advice, you'll never have a second chance to take the shot, so take it!
