Location
I lived in Tumon Bay, Guam for three years and were used to take afternoon walks with the family to watch the sunset. After a little playtime with my babies, I set to take sunset pictures by the bay while my babies and wife played in the sand.Time
Guam is on a state of eternal summer, this could have been anywhere from 17 to 1900.Lighting
I'm not an expert, in fact I am less than an amateur. I have to give credit to luck for part of this shot. I do remember taking lots of pictures and adjusting my exposure a lot to get different effects...Equipment
Nikon D5100 with the standard18-35mm, no tripod, no flash. Just breath in, breath out, hold, and shoot...Inspiration
The locals paddle their canoes all afternoon until the sun sets, the girl in the picture was just walking by the bay when the paddlers passed by and I thought it would've made for a great composition...Editing
As I said, I am nothing of an expert, I did use Paint Shop Pro to sharpen the colors a little. In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon camera D5100 hanging of my neck everywhere I go and shoot like a Japanese tourist but when I am set to shoot, I pack my D800, 50, 85,14-24, and 55-300mm lenses, a Manfrotto tripod, cards, extra power, remote, and couple filters. Nothing super high tech :)Feedback
Sit and shoot while waiting for the magic moment. You cannot force a moment like this...
