Lake Ballard in Western Australia hosts about 50 sculptures by the talented Anthony Gormley. The lake itself is about 49km square and is many hours drive away from the nearest small town, accessible through a 50km dirt track. Viewing the artworks is a very intimate experience partly due the extremes needed to get there and the fact that you are most likely going to be viewing them alone. In the 24 hours of my visit I didn't meet a single person.
