Location
This shot was taken just outside of my neighborhood in the Midwest. These are old Osage Orange trees that produce large, round, green fruit and are sometimes called horse apples I learned after photographing these trees and their fruit in the Fall before this Winter scene. I like shooting these trees in different seasons. This was taken in early March. I have love trees and I have loved photography since I was a child.Time
I left my house shortly before 10am after a snowfall that occurred the night before in hopes of getting a nice shot of these trees.Lighting
It was morning and it was kind of dreary with no sunlight and it had started snowing softly again.Equipment
My husband surprised me with a Canon Rebel t4i one Christmas. I am still learning this camera. I pulled the car over to the curb, rolled my window down, leaned on the car and I took this shot. The settings were f10, 1/100 sec, ISO 100, 24mmInspiration
I got excited when I learned I had a little free time away from my business and I knew immediately where I wanted to go and shoot. I was hoping the snow hadn't melted off the branches yet and it hadn't. Snow and trees always inspire me even on a cold, gray day.Editing
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and I am self-taught but with a little bit of help from my friends. I love in play in photoshop, it is very relaxing to me and rewarding. In my camera bag
I keep cleaning clothes, spare chips, a spare battery, a rain covering bag, and last year my husband surprised me on Christmas Day with a Canon telephoto 55-250 lenses. These things always go with me always, even on a plane in bubble wrap in a big purse.Feedback
Shoot often and try different perspectives. Play in photoshop, it is so much fun.
