Location
This photo was taken with an entry level camera (Nikon 3100) back in 2013 in a region of South Mexico called Los Tuxtlas (state of Veracruz).Time
After a long trip (7 hours) my friends and my wife arrived to a famous lake. It was just before the noon! Probably we were the last in a small boat. While we were on the water, the sun and the mountains started this beautiful dance. I did various takes, This was one of my favorites that day.Lighting
The natural light that day (actually that 10 minutes) was simply spectacular. The mix between natural water, sky and mountains helped a lot.Equipment
A Nikon 3100, with the standard 18-55 mm lens sold it together.Inspiration
That quarter of that year was specially terrible for me. The travel was an spontaneous reaction of my friends. I needed to spend my time in other than my troubles. My wife helped me a lot. Then, that sunsets captured my hole attention. I was in one of the most spectacular places in Mexico. I had to take advantage of the long travel, and I want to share some of my views with relatives and other friendsEditing
This kind of portraits gives the impression to do not need any pos-processing. Big temptation! However, I use some of my then precarious knowledge about Lightroom and simply tried tools. In my camera bag
In this moment: a Nikon 5200 and, yes an iPhone 6. My friends provide me the tripod or even other lens.Feedback
Go out! Be there Trust in your instincts. And, yes, use some apps (for example: at what exactly time will occur the sunset in this place?: use any waether app!). You need a lot of patience but, at the same time, you don't have more than five minutes (or less) to capture a great sunset in the landscape.
