Behind The Lens
Location
I was in Missoula, Montana taking a Summer Intensive session at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in August 2013. This was the first photo I took when I finally learned to shoot with manual settings! This was taken at Kootenai Creek in near Stevensville, Montana.Time
This photo was taken in the late afternoon. My husband and I were on a hike, and I decided to stand on some rocks in the middle of the stream to get this shot!Lighting
The shaded trail was speckled with sunlight, so I waited for a cloud to pass to get the more muted light.Equipment
I used Canon 7D camera with EF-S 18- 135mm lens, 1/20 sec, f16 ISO 100.Inspiration
I love hiking, and I wanted to take this photo of one of the most beautiful spots along the trail.Editing
I used Lightroom to adjust the exposure and noise reduction. In my camera bag
I usually carry 3 lenses. A wide-angle, telephoto, and one prime lens.Feedback
Be patient and wait for the right light!
