Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at Indianapolis Zoo. Indianapolis Indiana.Time
I cannot remember the exact day. It was during the summer probably in 2012 or 2013. The rhinos were resting and I couldn't resist a close up. Then captured this great photo.I know it was a hot mid day photo.Lighting
It is an outdoor shot. I thought this would be a great black and white photo with enhanced contrast and sharpness. It turned out better than I expected. One of my most loved photos.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 3Ti with a 200mm zoom lens and not other equipment. No flash was neededInspiration
I enjoy animal photos. The rhino was a perfect subject. It wasn't far away and was sleeping in the mud. Getting a close up of his face was amazing without actually being close. I was looking for wildlife type of photos to take and work with. I normally work with equine and this was a fantastic opportunity to expand my photography skills.Editing
Most of the process used was enhancing the white and dark balances. Using a couple layers of filters. Adjusting the contrast, saturation, brilliance, and lighting levels. In my camera bag
No special equipment in my bag. Working on building up my lens stash. I have the standard 55mm-85mm lense and a 200mm-500mm zoom lens. I so want to get more equipment as I can afford it.Feedback
Just like most photographers always carry a camera with you. That way when you see the opportunity you can capture it. I find myself scoping out places to shoot. Possible places to go to for fantastic shots. Can't capture a great shot if you don't carry the camera.
