Now if this isn't a cowboy's delight, I don't know what is. Dazzling. Voted.

Location
I was at a western themed photography workshop held by a friend of mine in Georgia, USATime
Sunset!Lighting
The part of the workshop where we went to a high ridge, to get silhouette shots of running horse and riders was dependent on a great sunset. This workshop was a little different in that we had lots of clouds, but not a lot of the golden color, but I liked it, since it was different then your average sunset lighting.Equipment
Nikon D90, 18-105mm nikor lens. HandheldInspiration
I was helping my friend with the workshop, and by the time the silhouette part of it came around, I had to get some shots! Too good of an opportunity to pass up!Editing
I did do some post processing, I use Photoshop Elements, and did a curves adj to make the silhouette blacker and sharper, as well as a Nik filter to make the clouds more structured. In my camera bag
Nikon D90, and now a Nikon D7000, which I love! Nikor DX lens, 18-105mm, 55-200m. Nikor prime 50mm f/1.8, and a Rokinon fisheye lens. A always bring my off camera flash, and extra batteries and storage cards!Feedback
Get down low, to get the entire subject backlit, and try to have space between the subjects arms and legs, so they don't look like a blob! Point your camera at the sky to get it's reading, and use that for your exposure, then point it back to the subject and shoot. Doing this at sunset will mean that you need to keep looking at your shots, and compensating for the light as it changes quickly.
