LOL! I bet that if you asked that seagull about publishing this picture it would be most offended! Great result at 1/3000!

Location
Along the Central Coast. Shell Beach to be exact on the small bluffs with the surf coming in.Time
Mid to late afternoon.Lighting
Unfortunately there is nothing worth sharing about the lighting given that I had no control over the sun and any other equipment to direct the light may have been ruined given the place I was at.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel T2i, of which I no longer have and the Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS.Inspiration
I love birds... any birds. Even the most common of the seagulls.Editing
The only post-processing I have done on "Day Ruined" is exposure values. In my camera bag
Everything that allows me to get any job done. Hoya macro filters, many lenses to include the standard kit lens. A Canon Speedlite 430 EX unit with whatever white card I have. An f/1.8 Canon nifty fifty. I also have an old lens from a Canon ELAN 7 that might have been the standard kit lens for it.Feedback
PATIENCE!!! Timing is everything. Don't fret so much about the environment trying to attack you, aka. the waves, let it attack your subject. ;)
