I had two ginger kitties....brothers. Both have passed now from a genetic disorder. I miss them terribly. This is an awesome photo. God bless you for rescuing Sheldon!

The sun was going down behind the window that Sheldon was lying down next to. I love the way it shows him basking in the sun.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D800 and a Nikkor 28-300mm lens at 150mm. Hand held.Inspiration
I have seen him lying in the sun and haven't went to get my camera. This time i finally did. He just looks so relaxed and happy, I wanted to capture that.Editing
I cropped this to put his eyes in the rule of thirds. I also did the usual post-processing such as unsharp mask, noise reduction and color correction.In my camera bag

I always try to get the focus as sharp as I can on the eyes. If you can achieve that the photo has possibilities. To me the most important aspects are focus, exposure and composition.
