Location
This photo was taken at The banks of the river Nidelven in Trondheim, Norway.Time
This photo was taken at goldenhour/sunset.Lighting
I did notice the low clouds and the glimps of blue sky just above the mountains where the sun set at this time of year. So I patiently waited and suddenly an amazing lightshow popped up on the sky.Equipment
Gear used was polafilter. I find that even though I turn the filter to off position, it has an effect on the photo. Aswell as a LEE filter NDG Soft 0,9 NDG. Canon 1ds Mark III, Canon 17-40mm f/4L USM and a Induro tripod.Inspiration
My first photo of this river was from the other side. A blue toned more calm photo. This inspired me to take a photo from this side of the river with intension of getting the Church in the frame. The lense was not wide enough, so I managed to take another photo with a different composition to get the church in the frame. However I found this straight on look very appealing. The reflections and symmetry, though different old and lively wharfs with the tiny wharf in the middle made me keep this composition aswell.Editing
Lightroom, easy adjustments, then photoshop where I do more adjustments in colours and contrast to make it match how it really was. as the Raw file only show the camera gear version. No heavy editing, just subtile. In my camera bag
Now I carry a Nikon D600, Nikon 18-35mmg, Sigma 35mm 1.4 art, Nikon 50mm 1.8g, Polafilter and LEE filters.Feedback
Just look for surfaces that reflects by the buildings you want to take a photo of. In this case it was not to difficult though.
