Location
i took this photo in my back garden i had not used my new DSLR much and saw the opportunity when the neighbors cat decided to sit and pose on my storage boxTime
This was an early sunny morning and i wasn't fully awake but not all opportunities are there when your fully ready but it has taught me to have my camera in sort sort of readiness from now onLighting
I am quite lucky as my garden has a good amount of light but strong direct light from the sun is broken by surrounding trees with light foliageEquipment
i used my 70d with 55-250 zoom i used the zoom so not to frighten the cat away and i was lucky that this was the lens i had already attached the night beforeInspiration
i have seen this cat about for a while and loved the marking so when it presented itself as a model i couldn't resist a photoshootEditing
I don't usually do much post processing i am a bit of a purist although i do appreciate digital art and the need for processing and have used processing when i feel i does a picture justice i just like to try and get the best shot in camera on this pic i cropped it down as the eyes were what i wanted to stand out and i sharpened the photo a small amountIn my camera bag
in my bag because i am more a street photographer i carry my canon 70d 15-55mm is stm kit lens 55-250mm is stm zoom and a 50mm prime lens small beanbag and the obvious cleaning accessoriesFeedback
for this kind of picture being spur of the moment my best advice is always have your camera set up ready to cover most events even when not in use, i find my zoom is best to be left on as most things that i run for my camera for are usually at a distance Also not panicking and making sure to double check settings even if you get a quick burst of shots of 1st then double check i have never successfully got any pet or animal to pose for me on command so rely on an animal to just allow me the privilage of capturing it also its probably better to capture a clear sharp shot in camera rather than rely on post processing
