Arguably the most famous of Australian bird life, the Laughing Kookaburra.

“Merry, merry King of the bush is he” ………. so the song goes.
What can you say about this incredible Australian bird, the bush just would not be the same without their raucous laugh, sun up and sun down he seems to mock your presence in his domain, puts us back in our place! This photograph was taken in the Grampians National Park in Western Victoria.
This particular image is incredibly detailed and even has the reflection of a gum tree in his eye which is kind of ironic as in the song every Australian kid had to learn in primary school mentioned above the preceding (and opening) line is “Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree” well in this image the gum tree is in the Kookaburra!
