Location
The photo was taken in southern Finland in August 2013.Time
It was afternoon. We were having the vernissage of an art exhibition. The gallery is placed in an old beautiful barn made of stone and there were flowers in front of it. Butterflies always gather there.Lighting
It was a sunny day.Equipment
I used Canon 100-400mm lens (at 400) to get blurry background. The camera was Canon 40D.Inspiration
The interaction between the colors was delicious. Butterflies and flowers is usually a good combination.Editing
I made only normal adjustments. Took the highlights quite much down.In my camera bag
I have Canon 5D Mark II + 24-70mm/4 lens and Canon 50D + 100-400mm lens. At that time the camera was Canon 40D.Feedback
I recently bought the new Canon 100-400mm lens, which is even better for butterfly photography because the minimum focus distance is only 98cm (38.4"). This allows good butterfly photography without disturbing the subject.
