Behind The Lens

Location

I took it at home.

Time

I'm not sure, maybe around 4 am.

Lighting

The lighting was the hardest part, because I really couldn't see what I'm doing, until the camera finishes the shot. In this picture I tried to achieve equal shadows.

Equipment

I used Canon 1100D, a tripod Vanguard MK4 and a single 150W industrial light.

Inspiration

I watched the movie ,,I Origins'' and it literally blew my mind. And there it struck me - I never had a picture of my own eyes.

Editing

The original picture was a headshot, but it was with awful composition. So, I decided to crop just my eyes and see what's gonna happen. I used Lightroom 3 for post - processing.

In my camera bag

I think that ideas mean more than equipment. This is why I use just kit lens, simple tripod and simple camera.

Feedback

Last year I went to the National Academy of Theather and Cinema Arts. They told me at the last exam, that I should find something else to do. Luckily I didn't listen to them. So I started visitng galleries, searching for contests, trying to take pictures to look more unique and so on. Finally I found my inspiration. So my advice is this: If you are to draw the thing you are about to shoot, how are you gonna do it?
