Behind The Lens

Location

In my back yard.

Time

Not sure

Lighting

I love using natural light for my photos and really enjoy evening lighting.

Equipment

Nikon D5200, no tripod with this shot.

Inspiration

My dogs always inspire me. They are so loving, loyal and giving. This is my Australian shepherd, Ruger. He is always by my side whenever I'm out and about, and he really seems to enjoy hamming it up for the camera. He has so many different expressions and is very photogenic, so who wouldn't be inspired by him? He makes it very easy to get a beautiful shot.

Editing

Yes, on Ruger I usually do the eye brightening to make them stand out a little more, and add a little contrast to make his fur nice and bright.

In my camera bag

2 lenses, lens extensions, plenty of extra batteries and 2 chargers.

Feedback

Just go with your instinct, and you will get that rush of adrenaline when you KNOW you're getting some great shots. Always pay attention to what your camera is telling you as far as lighting and focus. Play around with the camera on shots that aren't crucial, so that when you see a great shot in front of you, you will be prepared to capture that perfect expression or nuance.
