My late husband was a disabled veteran and he passed away July 9 2002. I know losing someone so very close is tougher than tough! Losing a husband as prepared as I tried to be, it still made me a train wreck for a long time. What a beautiful photo and no wonder it means so very much to you. It would be my favorite also. God bless you too Debbie! With parents you are close to, I know HE has. :-)

Thanks, Ruby! He was in Cleveland Clinic for 3 weeks, and it is a wonderful place to be if ever need be; however, we had to fight for the right to take pictures of our own Dad! I was his Medical Power of Attorney, my Mom was there with us also the whole time and my sisters, niece and nephews also, but they said that pictures aren't allowed because he couldn't speak for himself at that time. It was really crazy & we had to go through several levels of admin. in order to finally get a yes from an understanding Charge Nurse. We are so thankful we did! We have other photos also of all of us holding his hand. That was something he asked for before he got his trach & couldn't speak, so it meant a lot to us. He had a strong grip till the very end too! I mean literally strong. He was one fine Father, Husband, Grandfather, Father-in-Law, and Friend to many! I'm especially missing him the last few nights because I'm doing some pictures and videos for someone's father who just celebrated his 80th birthday, and sorting through things just brings back those memories for me. The good part is that being able to do those kinds of things for someone who is blessed enough to still have their Dad @ 80, helps me to heal a part of my broken heart. We lost Dad @ 75; He and my Mom would have been married 56 years on September 28.
