While meandering down a side street of an old gold mining town, I came across a stone face sticking out of the ground. We moved past the stone head to find another and another. I became fascinated with the real likeness of the face and the way the light cast a shadow creating an eerie feeling. The giant culvert in the picture is another eerie place I found during a hike. It was a perfect match for the stone face.
