December 31, 2014 at the Fox River National Wildlife Refuge between Montello and Portage, Wisconsin. The NWF is directly across the highway from Fountain Lake, now Ennis Lake, the boyhood farm of John Muir. During John's boyhood, this would have been part of their family farm.
