Location
This photo was shot in the Olympic Village of Barcelona (Spain) which is located on a hill called 'Montjuic'. The tower is actually an antenna of the company Telefónica (a Spanish mobile operator), it was design by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava to transmit the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The tower is 136m height and represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame.Time
It was on July in the evening. I went up to the hill to take some random photos of the different monuments up there. This was taken at almost 9 pm.Lighting
The light, as you can imagine, is all natural. The warm light coming from the sun setting was simply beautiful. No flash, stroke or similar was needed.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony A35, with a 18-55mm lens, on a tripod and remote. I shoot on ISO 100 in 1/125 sec at 28mm.Inspiration
More than inspiration was something about improvising. I was taking pictures of all the place and then I went back home to check what I shot. As a result, this one came up to my attention for its potential outcome.Editing
I did a basic processing to this picture, I wanted the tones of the sky to op up, and light up the withes of the tower. I additionally push the WB a little to the warm side to recover part of the light of the sunset. In my camera bag
My camera Sony A35, and two lenses: a Sony DT 18-55mm and Tamrom 70-300mm; tripod, remote, bottle of water, phones and home keys. :DFeedback
Weather in Barcelona is great for daylight photography all over the year, spring and summer are the best because the golden hour is a little bit larger and the sky is clear most of the time. When I'm shooting buildings I must use, and strongly recommend to use, a tripod and remote/timer. It eases the post-processing like straight up the photo, and it helps to avoid motion blur.
