Location
I took this photo in Healdsburg, California, a small town about 60 miles north of San Francisco. It's in the heart of wine country in Sonoma County.Time
Mid-day.Lighting
It was just a nice, clear day in early spring.Equipment
I used a Sony Nex-6 with a 17-55mm lens. I was holding my camera, walking the square in the center of town, basically looking for a little interesting street photography.Inspiration
As I walked the streets, two gorgeous yellow labs popped their heads out of the back window of a parked car. I quickly took several shots from about 10 feet.Editing
My only post-processing is the use of the sliders in iphoto (now "photos").In my camera bag
I carry a shoulder bag with me everywhere. In it is the Sony Nex-6, 17-55mm, 14mm, 55-200mm and fish-eye lenses, extra memory cards and batteries, some cleaning utensils, a plastic bag. I rarely use a tripod, but I do also have a bean bag on hand.Feedback
The only advice I can give is to just "be ready" to snap the scene if it appears. I was looking for interesting "street photography" that day, primarily people....but the dogs just popped up from nowhere. I think your eyes have to literally "sweep the scene" and you walk.
