Congratulations to a well deserved win in the Photo Challenge, The small things in life. I kept coming back to this photo over and over again as the colours draw me in. A very creative shot beautifully done.

This photo 'Grass blade under water' was taken at my home, in the natural light coming through the window.Time
I clicked this picture in the sunny afternoon. So there was ample of natural light. I kept the grass blade in a dish, poured some water and kept it near the window, which is my favorite place to click the photos.Lighting
No flash or any other artificial light was used. In the natural light by the window side, I clicked this photo.Equipment
I am an amateur photographer and clicking is my hobby. This picture was clicked by Nikon D3200, 18-55mm, f/3.5-5.6. I used 10x magnifying filter to get the macro details.Inspiration
Since I began spending more time with my camera, it has made me more aware and observant. Also, it has made me appreciate the beauty of the nature and the surroundings. I love travel, nature, and macro photography. It was a regular sunny afternoon and I was wondering what to click. I started clicking the drops on the grass. (Durva grass or Cynodon dactylon which has small fine blades) I thought, let's dip it under water and see how does it look! It was really wonderful to see the result. We can see the detailed structure - the green parallel threads inside the grass blade and the bubbles trapped inside the water enhance its color and beauty.Editing
For this picture I kept the white balance as Incandescent, which gives it nice blue color and for sharpening I used High Pass filter of Photoshop. In my opinion, one should definitely learn and use the photo editing techniques for sure. However the editing should be kept minimum so that you improve the feature and colors etc, but the photo shouldn't look too artificial. In my camera bag
I mostly carry Nikon D3200 camera with Nikkor 18-55mm, f/3.5-5.6G lens and have recently got Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens. I use macro filters while clicking macro pictures.Feedback
I like shooting patterns and macro. There is so much beauty in the details. Advanced, costly gear is great to have and it does give amazing results, however if one is really keen, then with basic kit gear also, you can capture nice pictures! Beauty is everywhere, we just have to be aware of it and look for it! Clicking gives creative satisfaction, happiness and it is fun.
