Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at one of my favourite places to shoot, Thacker Marsh. It is not far from my home and has a variety of birds and animals, as well as beautiful scenery.

Time

January 1 2014. Early morning. I was just drawn to the marsh that morning.

Lighting

That time of year can be misty and I took advantage of the morning light and clouds.

Equipment

I don't carry a tripod often, so it was just me and my old faithful camera, Canon 30D with my main lens, a Canon 28-105.

Inspiration

It inspired me to take it. It was just there, waiting for me to capture that moment.

Editing

I do very little post processing. I adjusted the exposure a bit.

In my camera bag

I don't have a lot of gear, but I always have my 100mm macro, my 85mm, 50mm, 18-55mm, and my 28-105 shares the body with the macro. The 28-105 and the macro are my most used lenses. It isn't just the gear, it is how you use it.

Feedback

You just have to look. Don't just rapid fire. Take the time to look, compose, shoot, look again, compose shoot. Repeat. But mostly, have fun look for a shot like this.
