Behind The Lens
Location
I took this in downtown Douglas, Georgia. Douglas has many historic looking buildings, and this was one that caught my eye a few weeks before I took this picture.Time
We took the picture around 4pm. I chose this time because it was taken in May, and generally in May it is beginning to get extremely hot in Georgia. My time was limited because of the event they were attending later, and I didn't want the kids getting too hot.Lighting
I used the natural lighting. It was a beautiful sunny day, but gate was located in a shaded area, it gave a great lighting for pictures!Equipment
I used a Canon 60D, with the Canon EF-S 18-13mm lens- 1:3.5-5.6 IS. It was taken freehand.Inspiration
I am always looking for places that are unique and give pictures the WOW! Effect. This is a picture from my daughters senior prom. I wanted it to be memorable and I wanted my camera to capture that. This picture is one of my favorites! We had a great time taking the pictures, and was able to take some really great pics.Editing
I did not do anything to the picture. I have thought about maybe going back and seeing if I can enhance it a little, but I think it's great the way it is!In my camera bag
Normally, I carry extra batteries, SD cards, camera lenses, and filters. I have just about everything I own in my bag!Feedback
In my opinion, just have fun! Allow your subjects to try different things. For me, that is what has made the best pictures, and it has expanded my creativity.
