Location
I am an amateur self taught photographer. This photo was taken in a park where i always hang out and relax. I always bring my camera because moments comes and goes, just like in this photo, where the right moment came and was captured.Time
During my walk in the park i saw this butterfly sitting on the flower, it was afternoon when i took this photo, it wasn't sunny that day so the light is not that harsh. I always bring my camera equipment, but on this day i didn't brought anything other than my camera because it might rain but i still took on the challenge and captured this moment. I took this photo on 7/21/2013 1:28 PM.Lighting
The moment I saw the butterfly, it was about to rain, so its not that bright outside. The problem that i faced is that, the light is not strong enough to give it more life. I don't have any other equipment other than my camera this time, so i use the built-in flash and with some adjustment to my camera, i got the look of photo that i'm imagining in my head.Equipment
This photo was taken using a Nikon D40X camera, with a Nikkor 55-200mm lens and the built-in flash.Inspiration
I have always been fascinated by nature photos, but what really inspired me to take this photo is the feel of peace that it portrays. It wasn't nice that day but the life that the butterfly give out is so peaceful and radiant. The gentleness and its fragility is so tempting, that it drags me to capture the moment through my lens.Editing
I always do post-processing, not to remove the reality from the photo but to give out what is just for the photo. In this picture, i processed it using Photoshop CS6, i just did minimal changes on the white balance, exposure, sharpness, radiance and saturation. In my camera bag
During unplanned trips i only have my Nikon D40X and 18-55mm lens. But when i really am going on a trip and planning to take photos, I bring my D40X, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens, tripod, extra memory cards, and different filters.Feedback
The first thing to do is plan your trip. Second, bring only what you are going to need. Third, have patience and wait for the right moment. Fourth, don't delete photos immediate, when the moment comes, click, look, adjust, then click again, you can delete unusable photos later. Lastly, if things doesn't go your way, be resourceful and be creative, don't let those burden you from taking amazing shots.
