I used a piece of stained glass in front of a wall next to a sliding glass door. That is the only light I had for this image.Equipment

I have a strong desire to create unique art and to keep improving. I spend a lot of time practicing and love to take it even farther. My first workshop was with Charles Needle and in his workshop he had us experiment with lots of different things. One of those things was stained glass. When I left his workshop my head was spinning with possibilities and from that one day I've never stopped wanting more. Creating more and developing more of my vision! It's so exciting for me when I see an image pop into my viewfinder. I really just let my imagination take it and from that the possibilities are endless.Editing
I do basic processing on my images. I may use a preset to get my desired results but most of my processing is in LightroomIn my camera bag
Nikon D750, Nikon 105mm macro lense, extension tubes, diopters, Nikon DF135mm lens, lens baby control freak, lensbaby 56mm lenses are my main staples that I love to play with.Feedback
Purchase a piece if stained glass. Set up near a window so you don't get any glare and practice with blending the glass with your subject. I believe I held the glass and pulled it up or moved it sideways to create more of a blur. Longer shutters are wonderful for this. I generally shoot as shallow as the image will allow so it's not unusual for me to shoot at 2.8. I love to blend. The effects are beautiful when it all comes together. My biggest piece of advice let go of any preconceived thoughts you have about what you want to capture and allow yourself to experiment with it. Move closer or farther. Use a longer shutter or speed it up. Look through your viewfinder and connect with your subject. Most importantly just play!
