I took this photo on a family trip to Warwick castle, England. I'm an amateur photographer and I love taking wildlife photos, especially birds of prey, and this was a great opportunity to get close!Time
The shot was taken at 12:42 pm 18 Aug 2014, its was a sunny, hot day so there was a lot of harsh light but it also meant I could get a fast shutter speed for a crisp image.Lighting
It was midday when I took this shot so the sun is right above me but luckily after the Display they moved the birds to some fenced off perches which sheltered by a tree so I could take the shot without any harsh shadows.Equipment
I took this shot with a Canon 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and it was shot at 1/500 sec at f/4.0Inspiration
Wildlife photography is my passion, no photo is ever the same, to do this everyday would be my dream job! at the moment I have to go to zoo's and nature centers to take pics of exotic animals but one day I hope to be able to take photos of wildlife across the world in their natural habitat.Editing
I always use post processing on my images, with this shot I enhanced the eyes by brightening them and giving them some clarity to make them stand out and I also bumped up the saturation. I edited this image once and then I went back to it as the beak was quite bright and had lost detail.In my camera bag
In my bag I have my Canon 7D which is a great camera, my trusty EF 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens and my kit lens 18-55mm its a great lens when your starting out but I think I will have to upgrade soon!Feedback
When I'm capturing images of birds always try to have a fast shutter speed as they move so quickly, also use multi shot rather than single shot to make sure you get that sharp image.
