Location
It was taken in Downtown NYC. I was working there upon a long absence, having been in Pennsylvania.Time
It's one of my favorite as it was misty day in Manhattan. Very cool and it was finally the rebuilding of the area. A new hope and the tears of Heaven for those we lost.Lighting
I love flags, too. And seeing the hope in the American dream and of NYC, along with the foggy/misty rain was really moving to me.Equipment
Hand held my Nikon Digital. As far as I remember. I could be mistaken. It may have been my Pentax. Which, considering the date, it probably was that, or my cell phone. I believe you have the metadata here.Inspiration
It just called to me, the weather, the situation, NYC and knowing it would change the next day, as it had changed each day during construction.Editing
I do now. Then, I don't think so, not as much. I may fix levels, though. I have been doing that a long time (in PhotoShop) just to get the best photo possible. I am learning to play even more now. Yet, I always try to keep one as close as to the original as possible. In my camera bag
I usually try to have my camera with me. If I do not, I have a cell phone. I prefer the camera, of course. And when something moves me or captures my eye, for any number of reason ... weather, flags, representation and I do love love love NYC ... I want to capture it. I love having a good camera and a telephoto lens, when I can. Could really use a unipod -- many places in my home of NYC do not allow tri-pods -- nevertheless, must wait for the finances to get all the other fun equipment. I have my Canon digital SLR and with my two lenses ... and am happy, try to have it with me whenever I am out and about in this pandemic.Feedback
Take a lot of shots, change position a bit and see what comes out the best. You could have a lot of great shots and get one or two extraordinary ones! Especially with weather, as clouds can move and the sun (or moon) can suddenly change the mood or disappear, or reappear and create a new interesting view. I also feel that someday, maybe, a future generation will see some of these and think "Wow, NY was so different then."
