I really like this black and white version of this photo. By removing the color it really lets you enjoy the photograph for it's high level of detail and great exposure. This is a great example of less is more. Thanks for sharing this one.

I took this at the springfield mo zooTime
I took this in the afternoon , in bright sunlightLighting
the lighting was bright and even where the lion was layingEquipment
canon eos 50D and canon 100-400 lensInspiration
I love the lions and big cats, I waited for over a hour for the lion to get into the right position for a great shotEditing
I used topaz to turn it black and white. I used the burn and dodge tool in photo shop to darken and take out the background. then applied topaz glow to the imageIn my camera bag

you need to study and see what time of day offers best lighting and to see if the animal has a certain time it goes to desired area.
