Location
The photo was taken in one of our room that I used as a studio in the Netherlands. I took a basic and continuation photography lesson 6 years ago. I am a full time employee, I don't go out more often to take pictures that's why most of my pictures are creative and experimental. Photography for me is a stress reliever.Time
Of all my favorite pictures this one is my top fav. It is dramatic and mysterious this is how I see my picture. While I'm working, I was thinking to do some creative shot. When I got home, I saw beautiful red roses in the vase. I have sprite in the fridge, I have an empty fish tank, plastic gems and other materials to add effect in the pictures. I took my tripod and my camera. Create a scene and give a shot.Lighting
I wanted to create different effects. The gold light effect in the picture came from the candle light and the fluorescent light effect came from the flashlight. My studio was totally dark, I took off the lights and used the candle and flashlight as the main lighting of my subject. I used tripod, ISO-100, Focal 11/22 and took more shots.Equipment
I used 500d canon, tripod, lens 18-200mm, Red Rose, sprite, water, fish tank, candles, flashlight, plastic gems, yellow plastic envelope and side table.Inspiration
I was inspired with my old project 6 years ago, when I was in photography lesson. I did experiment shot similar to this picture. I did another try but different effect. It comes out dramatic and mysterious.Editing
The camera captures everything even the dust. I gave a little enhancement of the background to look more dramatic, took off the dust, give a bit of sharpness, less a bit of saturation, high a bit of contrast and lower a little bit of brightness. The fire like above of the picture was the light of the candle. I did not take that out since it was part of the effect and history of the picture. In my camera bag
My canon 760D,lens 18-200 Image stabilizer,macro lens 50mm,speed light,4 SD cards,extra battery,remote control and cleaning stuff.Feedback
Experimental creative photography needs patient, needs creative mind and if you don't get the effect you want give another try and experiment until you get what you want. Take more shots and select the best. I always take raw file so I can go back for editing if it's needed.
