Location
This shot was taken the Hemingway harbor at Lake Mead, NV.Time
This photo was taken in the early afternoon light.Lighting
The photo was taken only using natural light.Equipment
I took this photo using a Pentax k20d I did not use flash or a tripod to capture this image.Inspiration
When this photo was taken we had taken our kids to the marina to feed the ducks and carp. As we feed the ducks and carp this moment presented itself and I was able to capture it at just the right moment.Editing
This image was only edited usin adobe lightroom with minimal adjustments. In my camera bag
I normally carry my Pentax k20d with three lens a 28-90, a 70-300, and a 18-200. I also carry a canon xsi with a standard 18-55 lens. I carry multiple memory cards and two tripods. A full size tripod and a small gorilla grip tripod.Feedback
The best advice I can give to someone who wants to capture something similar is to always keep your eyes wide open. When you go to any location sit back and watch where the activities are happening. I shoot in manual with all my DSLR camera's so spend the time to learn the camera and its features and adjustments. This can be the difference of getting the shot or missing it all together. Also be ready for instantaneous situations and shoot, take the shot. Remember that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Some times you can recreate I moment or a shot but moments like this one are hard to replicate and may only happen just right once.
