Behind The Lens

Location

Just on the outskirts of Evergreen Colorado on Highway 103. The bridge is Highway 74 that takes you downtown. Here is a GPS tag of the spot. 39.684892, -105.373479

Time

Late afternoon on a most stunning afternoon. Storms develop very quickly in the Rockies.

Lighting

Natural light in all it's wonder.

Equipment

My trusty Nikon D7000 handheld.

Inspiration

Shear luck of being at the right place at exactly the right time. Moments like happen so frequently in the mountains. All it really takes is having something to capture the moment.

Editing

Oh yes, Lightroom was used extensively to highlight and emphasize different elements of the area. Adding in just a bit of color and depth to the lighter rainbow while enriching the more visible of the two.

In my camera bag

Currently I carry the Nikon D750 along with a Tripod, 20mm Nikon 2.8. 35-70mm Nikon 2.8 and 50-200mm Nikon 2.8. in my Kansas Bag. In Colorado my wife Jan keeps the D7000 along with a Tokina 11-16mm (love this lense) Kit 18-105 and Nikon 55-300mm

Feedback

Go to beautiful places and seize (freeze) the moments you experience. It's so easy in the rockies, so many beautiful things to see. Not so easy here in Kansas, I find that I'm having to use more imagination to develop scenes instead of just capturing them.
