Location
I saw the opportunity for this image, whilst driving through the New Forest, Hampshire, one summer's evening.Time
My wife and I were returning from a day out at the New Forest Show, at around 7pm.Lighting
What inspired me to take the shot was the way the sunlight was filtering through the trees and illuminating the ferns near the ground.Equipment
All I used was my Pentax K100D, with a polariser on the lens. The lens I was using was an 18-55mm PentaxInspiration
My inspiration came from other images I had seen of a similar ilk. Being a largely self taught photographer, I wanted to see what I could achieve by attempting to take a similar image.Editing
I adjusted the contrast a little, but that is all.In my camera bag
Generally, I will carry around with my camera and two lenses, (an 18-55 and 55-200mm) along with a polariser. If circumstances permit, then I will take a tripod with me too.Feedback
Have your camera with you at dawn and dusk. These are the best times to capture images like this. Get out into the forest on frosty days, when the sun is shining. That will give you the best results.
