Location
This was taken along Beach Loop at Coquille Point in Bandon-by-the-Sea, Oregon.Time
The sun was setting over the rocks shown and I waited until it looked like the rays were fingers reaching through the rock formation.Lighting
I waited patiently as the sun dropped towards the ocean and began to envelop the rock formations with a warm glow.Equipment
I shot this photo with a Canon 600D with a 75-300 lens and hood on a swivel top tripod.Inspiration
When I arrived at the beach lookout, the light seemed extra warm and bright, almost liquid, and as it started to set, it seemed to melt over the rock formation, drawing me to it as if it was a golden crown of jewels...Editing
I only added a slight amount of saturation on this photo as it pretty much spoke for itself. In my camera bag
My Canon 600D body with my 85mm Sigma lens and my 18-55 Canon lens, batteries, wipes, remote flash fire, battery charger.Feedback
Go prepared with a variety of lenses and filters, a sturdy tripod, and warm clothing. Shoot some test shots as soon as the sun starts to set, so when it is in the perfect place, you are ready to catch this brief moment of golden warmth.
