Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in an old garage. I found the best spot where the light ambient is very warm and I ask the model to make a pose under that spot. I intent to ask the model to have that kind of pose because of the flow of natural light from the Window.

Time

This photo was taken about 3pm. Normally for me the time range 1pm-5pm is the best time in shooting portraits because the light ambient during that time gives you a very dramatic and creative output

Lighting

For me, in my own personal preference in Photography. Natural light is the best, because it has the ability to show the emotions of the subject, drama and message of the photo you took.

Equipment

I only use 550D not only in this session but to all of my Photoshoot session.

Inspiration

What inspire me to take this photo is because of the message of it. As you noticed the pose was embeded with emotions as it feel the flow of light towards her body. It shows the nature of life and how you embrace the environment

Editing

In my Photography Preference. I do believe that Real Photography is to capture and preserve the best moment. The reason why I don't do Post-Processing. I only do global balance and convert image into monochrome/Black and white.

In my camera bag

I only have 1 Body (550D), 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm IS II, 3 memory card, 2 battery, ND filter and Remote shutter

Feedback

All i can advise in capturing something similar is they should analyze the flow of light, the ambient, the environment of the spot and adjust the Manual settings of the DSLR to achieve the target output for that particular subject and scene.
