Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a hike through the woods, it had just stopped raining. While walking down a path I noticed all the rain covered leaves on the ground. I literally laid down on my stomach in the dirt to get this shot.

Time

This photo was taken at about 10 o'clock in the morning. I had decided to only bring my macro lens.

Lighting

It was a fairly overcast day.

Equipment

I use brought a Canon 5D MkII on this trip. This shot was hand held, although I rested the end of the lens hood on the ground. Since I don't own a flash, this was taken in natural light.

Inspiration

originally the color of the leaves caught my eye. once i got closer everything changed.

Editing

I converted this photo to black and white, I felt the color was too distracting

In my camera bag

I normally carry a Canon 5D MKII, along with an assortment of lenses. I have a 100-400mm telephoto, great for wildlife. A 17-40mm wide-angle for landscapes, and a 100mm macro.
